Q: Is the oil/fuel mix too rich on the PW80?
A: I was repeatedly told that the PW80 comes way too rich from the factory regarding oil/fuel mix. So instead of the usual 20:1 mix I ran 30:1. Hmmmm…. will reconnnect injector, but only after ruling out all else. I did put a larger main it also.
Q: Is it possible to run a PW80 without the injector?
A: To run without it you’ll probably need a much larger main jet. The jets for the pw’s were difficult to find and expensive. Everythign had to be ordered in. See if you can repair the injector. I only disabled it after a ton of PW80 owners told me that when they diabled it and mixed their own they saw marked improvements.
Q: How do I clean the carburetor?
A: Pull the carb off the bike and clean it inside and out. Be sure main jet is clear. Remove the two screws on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well. Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > > > do not tighten these two screws down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat.
