FAQ:
Q: What lenses work with the N80?
A: Technically the N80 is designed to work with the following lenses styles: AF, AF-D, AF-G, and AI-P. One of the cool things about this little camera is the built-in flash- called a “Speedlight” by Nikon. Neither the Nikon F100 or F5 have the built-in Speedlight.
Q: What are the downsides of the Nikon N80?
A: The N80, like the N65, can’t meter or make auto exposures with manual focus lenses. Manual lenses are almost useless on it except if you have a separate meter. You may be able to do TTL macro flash with it, in which case this is not a downfall. Durability.
Q: What is the difference between the N80 and the F80?
A: When you combine the N80 with Nikon’s 2.5 inch long 28-80mm f3.5-5.6G zoom lens, it is a very powerful and flexible camera system, but it remains light in weight. Please realize that the USA N80 and non-USA F80 are identical cameras.
Q: Why does my N80 film advance stop after a few shots?
A: If the film advance is set to Continuous, the N80 will only fire the selected number of shots in rapid succession. Then the film will stop advancing. Just to the right of the Auto Exposure Bracketing button is the “Flash-Sync Mode” button. (See picture above) This is used to set the way the built-in flash synchronizes itself with the shutter.
